What a Moroccan rent receipt must contain
In Morocco a landlord must issue a rent receipt as soon as the tenant asks for one, under article 11 of law 67-12 governing landlord and tenant relations, published in Official Bulletin no. 6208. The receipt is free of charge and evidences payment of rent and charges for a given period.
Required details
- Landlord's name and address
- Tenant's name
- Address of the rented property
- Period covered by the payment
- Rent and charges, in dirhams (MAD/DH)
- Method and date of payment
- Issue date and the landlord's signature
Without receipts, a recovery or eviction claim is harder to evidence, and the landlord is exposed if the tax authority (DGI) reviews rental income.
